Pay

Base pay range: CA $38.00/hr – CA $45.00/hr. (Actual pay based on skills and experience.)

Job Summary

The Electrical Site Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and managing all electrical construction activities on site. This role ensures that electrical work is completed safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with project specifications, codes, and quality standards. The Electrical Site Superintendent coordinates crews, subcontractors, and materials, while serving as the key link between field operations and project management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise, direct, and motivate site crews, subcontractors and trades to achieve project goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with Site Superintendents for task assignments and project objectives.
  • Plan and schedule daily work activities in alignment with project timelines and milestones.
  • Coordinate deliveries, equipment, and material handling to minimize downtime.
  • Assist in problem‑solving and decision‑making when unexpected site challenges arise.
  • Maintain daily site reports, time sheets, and records of work completed.
  • Communicate clearly with the Site Superintendent / Project Manager regarding progress, issues, and resource needs.
  • Support training and mentoring of apprentices and junior crew members.
  • Be part of a continuous improvement process.
  • Pull permits as required.
  • Install, maintain and repair electrical systems including conduits, wiring, circuit breakers, outlets, switches, and other electrical components according to blueprints and building codes.
  • Connect power supplies to equipment and install ground leads and connections to meet safety regulations.
  • Troubleshoot problems and bring solutions.
  • Diagnose electrical problems using testing devices and repair or replace faulty wiring, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance to ensure the safety and functionality of electrical systems.
  • Ensure all electrical work complies with national and local building codes and safety standards.
  • Follow safety procedures to prevent electrical hazards and ensure a safe working environment on the construction site.
  • Work closely with other construction professionals to ensure electrical systems are integrated properly within the overall construction plan.
  • Communicate with project managers and engineers to discuss project timelines and resolve any issues.
  • May supervise apprentices and other less experienced electricians, providing guidance and training as needed.
  • Maintain records of installations, repairs, and maintenance performed, and report any issues to supervisors or project managers.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Must hold a journeyman electrician license; FSR required.
  • Proficient in reading blueprints, technical diagrams, and electrical code specifications; strong knowledge of electrical systems and codes. Experience with solar is an asset.
  • Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing devices.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical issues and devise effective solutions.
  • Able to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials up to 50 lbs.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
Work Environment
  • Work performed primarily on construction sites, often in loud, dusty, or hazardous conditions.
  • May require working at heights, in confined spaces, or in various weather conditions.
  • Shifts are typically 10–12 hours, with overtime expected.
