Location: Merritt
Join the ASK Wellness Society as a part-time Cultural Support Worker in Merritt, dedicated to enhancing cultural awareness and assisting clients in overcoming barriers. Engage with Indigenous practices and community services.
This role emphasizes collaboration with the outreach team to support clients facing homelessness. The Cultural Support Worker will adopt a client-centered approach while promoting trauma-informed care and cultural competency. Your ability to facilitate life skills and lead cultural activities will create meaningful impact.
Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitate support for clients at risk of homelessness
• Deliver care using a recovery-oriented approach
• Organize and lead cultural and social activities
• Support clients in building personal and cultural identity
• Engage community partners to promote traditional healing
Requirements:
• Education in Social Work or related field
• Understanding of Indigenous issues and traditions
• Excellent documentation and communication skills
• Clean criminal record for working with vulnerable populations
• Current driver’s license with a safe driving record
