Elevate your community impact as a full-time Community Outreach Worker with Lower Nicola Indian Band in Merritt, British Columbia. Focus on relationship-building and systems navigation to enhance member wellbeing.

In this key role within the Social Development Department, the Community Outreach Worker promotes independence and stability for LNIB members. You will provide practical support and mentorship across various life skills, enhancing community connections and reducing barriers to essential services. Your collaboration with the Youth Outreach Worker will enable you to foster a comprehensive approach to social support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess community members' needs and develop support plans

• Facilitate access to housing, employment, and addiction services

• Mentor in budgeting, parenting, and household organization

• Participate in community programs and educational workshops

• Integrate cultural teachings into daily practice

Requirements:

• Diploma or degree in Human Services, Social Work, or similar

• Experience with First Nations communities

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills

• Commitment to trauma-informed and culturally safe practices

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
