Make a meaningful impact as a full-time Outreach Worker with the Lower Nicola Indian Band in Merritt, British Columbia. Your focus will be on supporting members through life skills development and community engagement.

The role of Community Outreach Worker is vital within the Social Development sector  will provide critical support in navigating various community services, promoting autonomy and connection among members. This collaborative position emphasizes working alongside the Youth Outreach Worker to ensure a holistic support network.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one support and action plans for members

• Advocate for access to essential services and resources

• Coach in areas like household organization and personal care

• Engage community members in workshops and cultural events

• Document and communicate effectively to support services

Requirements:

• Relevant diploma or degree in Human Services or related field

• Experience with First Nations individuals facing barriers

• Strong interpersonal and documentation skills

• Culturally safe and trauma-informed practice commitment

• Ability to work flexible hours
