Position: Community Life Skills Educator Role
Location: Merritt

Become a Community Life Skills Educator with NVSSS in Merritt, BC. Help those in need by providing life skills education and fostering community connections through empowering workshops and coaching.

This position, based hael's Community Centre, focuses on delivering essential life skills to individuals facing various challenges such as homelessness and mental health issues. You will craft engaging workshops focused on financial literacy, personal hygiene, and employment readiness, all designed to boost independence and community involvement. You'll also assist in creating a supportive environment during extreme weather events.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and facilitate life skills workshops and demonstrations

• Provide one-on-one coaching sessions and encourage skill application

• Coordinate community events and engagement initiatives

• Assist with monitoring participant health and safety

• Maintain program documentation and resource management

Requirements:

• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

• Background in education or social services

• Experience facilitating group activities or similar roles

• Knowledge of person-centered approaches is beneficial

• Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence preferred
