Join the Lower Nicola Indian Band as a full-time Community Engagement Specialist in Merritt, British Columbia, focusing on outreach and support for individuals and families. Enhance community connections through sustainable practices.

As a Community Outreach Worker, your mission will be to promote independence and stability through service navigation and life skills support. Collaborate with the Youth Outreach Worker to deliver integrated assistance to LNIB members. This position is rooted in cultural respect and values, aiming to empower individuals through practical mentorship and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and plan tailored support with community members

• Support access to community services and resources

• Mentor in essential life skills and personal development

• Facilitate community workshops and education sessions

• Maintain collaborative communication with team members

Requirements:

• Diploma or degree in a related field, such as Social Work

• Experience working with individuals from Indigenous backgrounds

• Strong interpersonal and documentation abilities

• Commitment to culturally informed practices

• Flexibility in scheduling for community events
