NVIT anticipates the need for Term Instructors to teach within the Social Work Program in Merritt, BC, and invites applications from qualified individuals. Course deliveries will be hybrid and/or online. The NVIT BSW degree program is the only Indigenous-centred BSW program in BC. Applicants should indicate which courses they are qualified for and interested in teaching. Fall 2026

  • SOCW 466 – Addictions
  • SOCW 486 – Indigenous Social Work Practice

Qualifications
  • Possess Master of Social Work Degree (MSW).
  • Minimum of two years teaching experience at a college or university level.
  • Experience in classroom teaching and learning practices with Indigenous adult learners.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge in Indigenous social work theory and practice.
  • Strong team player with excellent human relation skills – faculty members are expected to contribute positively to the life of the school and community.
  • Ability to develop strong connections to Indigenous social service agencies and communities.
  • Applicants must be willing to teach in a hybrid model. Face to Face in class for students wishing to attend class in person and online synchronist for students not on campus.
  • Applicants must be familiar with Moodle, Teams and Outlook operating platforms.
