Position: Part-Time Housing Shelter Worker
Make a difference as a Housing Focused Shelter Worker at The Mustard Seed in Kamloops, BC. Support shelter guests through crisis intervention and meaningful connections every day.

This part-time role requires addressing the needs of those who have faced trauma and barriers to housing. You will connect individuals with essential services and programs for a sustainable transition. This position also includes case management, crisis response, and ensuring a safe environment for all shelter participants.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the first contact for shelter participants

• Respond to crises with de-escalation techniques

• Maintain clean shelter environments and enforce rules

• Model healthy relationships and provide referrals

• Assist with daily meal programs and supervision

Requirements:

• One year of experience with marginalized populations

• Diploma in Human Services or related field preferred

• Strong communication and conflict resolution skills

• Self-starter with an ability to work in teams

• Proactive attitude and integrity in confidential matters

Support shelter guests on their journey to housing stability while upholding dignity and respect.
