Recreation Aide at West Coast Seniors Housing

Join West Coast Seniors Housing Management as a Recreation Aide, focusing on enhancing residents' experiences through engaging activities. Assist in program planning, implementation, and evaluation while maintaining a respectful environment.

In this role, you will report to the Therapeutic Recreation Manager. Your responsibilities include developing recreation services, promoting programs, and ensuring residents' rights are honored. You’ll engage with residents and external groups, documenting observations for ongoing support and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in developing and implementing recreation programs

• Promote and oversee events, exercises, and crafts

• Document any changes in residents' well-being

• Ensure safety protocols and maintain a clean environment

• Support new staff and residents in community integration

Requirements:

• Grade 12 education with a two-year Recreation Diploma

• Previous experience in senior care preferred

• Valid First Aid Level 1 Certification

• Basic computer skills

• Must pass a vulnerability sector Criminal Record Check
