Transportation Substitute Bus Driver

Safeguard student journeys as a Transportation Substitute Bus Driver in Virginia. Provide reliable transport to school and events while managing student behavior and safety.

This position requires work under the moderate supervision of the Director of Special Education and Student Services in the Transportation Department. As a Substitute Bus Driver, you'll ensure safe pickups and drop-offs, enforce rules, and maintain both discipline and bus cleanliness. Your interactions with students and school officials will contribute to a positive transportation experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely transport students to and from specified locations

• Safely load and unload students at designated stops

• Maintain discipline and report misbehavior as necessary

• Keep the bus clean and organized for passenger safety

• Conduct pre-trip inspections and report any issues

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED preferred

• Valid commercial driver's license with school bus endorsement

• General knowledge of bus operation and district geography

• Ability to maintain effective working relationships

• Patient and understanding demeanor with children
