Transportation Technician II

Become a vital part of Kamloops by serving as a full-time Transportation Technician II. You'll handle traffic permits, transportation studies, and ensure pedestrian safety installations effectively.

The City of Kamloops is looking for an experienced Transportation Technician II to contribute to essential urban planning initiatives. In this permanent role, you will engage in traffic control systems, manage road system planning, and operate related software applications such as AutoCAD. You will also undertake field data collection trips as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with traffic permits and transportation studies

• Contribute to road system planning and traffic calming strategies

• Implement pedestrian safety installations and traffic control systems

• Operate traffic software and AutoCAD applications

• Conduct field data collection trips as required

Requirements:

• Two-year engineering diploma focusing on traffic and transportation

• Minimum three years in civil or traffic engineering technology

• Registered Applied Science Technologist (AScT) with ASTTBC

• Valid Class 5 BC driver’s licence

• Eligibility for Traffic Control Person (TCP) certification
