Transportation Technician

Position: Kamloops Transportation Technician Role
Join the City of Kamloops as a dedicated Transportation Technician II, focusing on traffic control systems and community safety. This full-time position integrates planning, traffic studies, and real-world field analysis.

In this role, you'll be a key team member responsible for advancing Kamloops' transportation initiatives. Your duties will include handling traffic permits, participating in transportation studies, and designing pedestrian safety measures. Additionally, your expertise with AutoCAD and traffic management software will be essential in executing these responsibilities effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage traffic permits and perform detailed transportation studies

• Support road system planning and traffic calming initiatives

• Design and install pedestrian safety enhancements

• Utilize traffic management software and AutoCAD tools

• Collect field data to inform planning and safety measures

Requirements:

• Completed two-year diploma in engineering with traffic emphasis

• At least three years of relevant transportation or civil experience

• A registered Applied Science Technologist (AScT)

• Hold a valid Class 5 BC driver’s licence

• Ability to achieve Traffic Control Person (TCP) certification
