Position: City Transportation Technician
Join the City of Kamloops as a full-time Transportation Technician I, where your skills will enhance community traffic initiatives. Engage in reviewing permits and responding to traffic inquiries.

As part of the Transportation Division, you’ll assist with traffic control plans and conduct studies that support engineering and planning decisions crucial to community infrastructure. Key Responsibilities:

• Review and approve oversize vehicle and right-of-way permits

• Investigate public complaints regarding transportation issues

• Conduct speed studies to inform engineering decisions

• Collaborate with the team on traffic operations

• Support community engagement and education in traffic matters

Requirements:

• Completion of a two-year Engineering diploma

• At least 6 months’ traffic engineering experience

• Valid Class 5 BC Driver's Licence

• Willingness to obtain Traffic Control Certification

• Dedication to fostering community-centered transportation solutions
