The City of Kamloops is hiring a full-time Transportation Technician I to support vital community traffic operations. Contribute with permit approvals and traffic control planning.
This role requires a proactive individual with a background in technical engineering. You will engage in diverse responsibilities from reviewing transportation permits to conducting traffic counts and speed studies, providing essential data for community planning. The Transportation Division upholds values of inclusivity and cooperation, fostering a supportive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist with processing traffic and transportation permits
• Handle inquiries and complaints regarding transportation issues
• Conduct studies for traffic speed and planning insights
• Work collaboratively on engineering projects within the division
• Enhance community safety through effective transportation strategies
Requirements:
• Two-year diploma in Engineering from an accredited program
• 6 months’ experience in transportation or traffic engineering
• Current BC Class 5 Driver's Licence
• Capability to acquire Traffic Control Person Certification
• Commitment to the values of the City of Kamloops
