Job Description

Join our Embedded Connectivity – Networking Team, where you will contribute to cutting-edge embedded software development for next-generation vehicles. You will work on system components that provide enabling frameworks and functional services above the operating system and drivers. This role supports connected vehicle services, autonomous vehicle programs, V2X technologies, and other advanced vehicle networking capabilities.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain test automation tools and frameworks.

Develop embedded and networking software supporting distributed vehicle systems.

Define and implement lower-layer networking protocols and services.

Maintain automated execution of large test suites and triage test results.

Diagnose and debug software defects across hardware and software platforms.

Work in Linux-based development environments.

Collaborate across multi-site teams to deliver scalable, production-ready solutions.

Requirements:

Strong Python development experience.

Proven experience building test and automation tools.

Demonstrated aptitude for troubleshooting and problem-solving.

Ability to work independently within a small team environment.

3+ years of Python tools development experience.

Assets:

Experience with RTOS or embedded systems.

Familiarity with automotive standards such as AUTOSAR.

Exposure to networking concepts (Ethernet, IP layers).

C++ and embedded systems development.

Test automation frameworks.

Ethernet and TCP/IP networking.

Linux kernel exposure.

Git/Git Hub.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

1+ year of embedded systems development.

3+ years of networking experience (Ethernet, IP forwarding, control or management planes).

Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, QoS, DNS, VLAN, AVB, TSN, .

Strong C/C++ experience.

Experience with RTOS environments (QNX or Embedded Linux).

Knowledge of Git and modern development workflows.

Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD).

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Work Environment

Work on-site in Kanata, ON, five days per week.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Kanata, ON.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $62.21/hr.
