Relationship Banker (Kaneohe Branch)

At the direction of the Manager, the Relationship Banker creates exceptional customer experiences by engaging clients with outstanding customer service while ensuring that clients understand how digital and mobile alternatives can complete their banking transactions quickly and efficiently. Further, the Relationship Banker introduces and sells financial services to meet clients' short‑ and long‑term needs, as identified by profiling and through knowledge of products and services.

In addition the Relationship Banker processes all types of financial transactions for clients, balances own cash, and assists with vault, ATM cash recycler, and armored car duties.

Responsibilities
  • Help lead the overall branch client experience. Proactively engage existing and prospective clients to understand and interact with 21st‑century banking advancements by demonstrating transactions using technology, creating interest, and handling objections. This includes providing exceptional customer service, managing the flow of activity throughout the branch, assessing and fulfilling client needs, handling and resolving complaints, and escalating unresolved concerns to the appropriate branch or department.
  • Maintain and sell financial services to clientele by addressing both their long‑term and short‑term goals through profiling. Identify customer needs, maintain extensive knowledge of products and services, cross‑sell, open new accounts, call on prospects, and perform teleconsulting.
  • Actively sell financial products and services, making referrals as appropriate. Interview, process applications, and close all consumer credit products. Provide a high level of quality service to customers. Process a wide range of financial transactions including cashing checks, accepting deposits, paying withdrawals, accepting payments, issuing cashier's checks, selling traveler's checks, and more. Balance individual cash. Open and close the vault. Perform duties as needed for ATM, vault, cash recycler, and armored car transactions.

    Train new employees on operational procedures.
  • Identify and secure new high and/or potentially high‑value consumer clients. Coordinate calling efforts, manage referrals, track sales, and prospect to achieve personal sales goals and contribute to overall team goals. Train new employees on sales procedures. Maintain close contact with customers and prospects, make appreciation calls, and actively promote and market the bank and its products and services, which may include public‑address announcements and aisle relationship building at in‑store locations.
  • Stay informed of current bank policies, procedures, federal laws and regulations, and maintain strong knowledge of new products, programs, and sales promotions.
  • Perform all other miscellaneous responsibilities and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry. If not yet registered, registration to be completed and accepted no later than 30 days from employment or transfer date. If not registered and accepted, employment may be terminated.
  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in consumer sales, marketing, and/or customer service or equivalent work experience. Banking and financial services industries preferred. Experience should include demonstrated success in a retail banking environment, and candidates should demonstrate ability and desire to advance skills in various personal‑finance areas including investments, insurance, mortgage, and small‑business products and services.
  • Proficiency with personal computers in a networked environment and Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Knowledge of or ability to use bank software and systems including PC Teller, Customer Information System (CIS), and check imprinter.
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Must demonstrate critical thinking, be analytical, detail‑oriented, and organized.
