Network Architect Engineer Design Sr - Kaneohe Bay

Overview We are seeking a senior-level Network Operations Specialist to support enterprise network planning, modernization, and future operations initiatives in a mission-critical environment. This role combines advanced network engineering expertise with strategic planning responsibilities, requiring an individual who can assess current and future network requirements, evaluate operational impacts, and develop executable implementation plans.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience with Cisco networking technologies, enterprise network architecture, and large-scale network modernization efforts. This position requires both technical depth and the ability to coordinate with stakeholders across engineering, operations, and leadership teams.

Location Kaneohe, Hawaii (On-Site)

Key Responsibilities Assess upcoming network requirements and evaluate technical and operational impacts.

Develop recommendations for network implementation, sustainment, upgrades, and modernization.

Analyze complex network topology and architecture diagrams to identify risks, dependencies, and downstream impacts.

Support and optimize Cisco-based enterprise network environments.

Evaluate proposed network changes and understand their effects across interconnected systems and users.

Coordinate requirements and planning activities across technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Apply project management and change management principles to network initiatives.

Identify and mitigate potential technical and operational roadblocks before execution.

Assist with network lifecycle planning, forecasting, and future-state architecture development.

Support incident management, troubleshooting, and escalation activities as needed.

Document network changes, operational activities, and technical recommendations.

Participate in data center and enterprise infrastructure support activities.

Required Qualifications 8+ years of enterprise networking experience.

Strong background in network operations, routing, switching, and troubleshooting.

Experience reviewing and interpreting complex network topology and architecture diagrams.

Hands-on experience with Cisco networking technologies.

Experience with Software Defined Networking (SDN) and Software Defined Access (SDA).Experience planning and executing network upgrades, migrations, and modernization efforts.

Strong understanding of enterprise network architecture and infrastructure dependencies.

Experience coordinating technical requirements across multiple stakeholders.

Ability to work independently and operate in a dynamic mission-focused environment.

Active Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications CCNP certification (strongly preferred).CCNA certification.

CompTIA Security+, SecurityX, or CISSP.

Experience with Cisco Catalyst Center.

Experience with network design, forecasting, and strategic planning.

Project management or change management experience.

Familiarity with enterprise or government network environments.

PMP certification is a plus.

Microsoft Azure Fundamentals certification is a plus.

Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Kaneohe, HI.Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $64.91 - $69.72/hr individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
