Varies - Salary Range: $22.85 – $30.75 per hour
The CNA serves as a caregiver to residents during scheduled shifts in assisted living.
Responsibilities include:
- Basic health care needs such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing and recording vital signs
- Providing psychosocial support and personal care
- Assisting with transfers, repositioning and walking using proper techniques
- Performing range‑of‑motion and passive exercises
- Preparing and serving food, providing water and supplements
- Supporting nursing staff with procedures, specimen collection and medication administration (under delegated scope)
- Documenting resident outcomes, medication administration, behavior, activity and diet
- Communicating changes to the charge nurse
- Housekeeping and laundry support as needed
- Encouraging participation in wellness and recreational programs
Depending on location, the CNA may provide care to residents with dementia and may be responsible for infection prevention, PPE usage, and shift rotations, including weekends and holidays. Rotation may involve committee meetings or student training supervision.
Qualifications- High school graduate or GED (preferred but not required)
- Minimum age 16
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience (preferred)
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing (required)
- Year‑to‑year competency testing with ≥12 hours of continuing education
- State UAP Registry registration if applicable
- Possibility of driving responsibilities – must meet Sanford driver policy requirements
