Enforces policies and procedures with all patients/residents, visitors and staff. Patrols and secures facility buildings and grounds as assigned. Monitors conduct of visitors on premises and confronts unauthorized persons for questioning. Reports safety, fire hazards or security violations. Responds to all requests for assistance from employees, patients/residents and visitors. Assists with any and all situation; i.e., problem‑solving with positive outcomes. May escort personnel to and from parking areas as requested.
Maintains records and prepares incident reports and other documents pertinent to security activities. Works with all age groups and prioritizes calls for service based on safety needs. Handles high‑stress situations requiring de‑escalation. Maintains awareness of local laws affecting behavior on private property. Requires effective communication, professional report writing, and basic physical capability for security duties. Access to medication storage areas permitted for job‑related functions.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred; college or vocational education preferred. Prior experience in healthcare security, contract security, and/or law enforcement strongly preferred. May require a current valid driver’s license. Basic certification by the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety preferred within one year of hire.
