Overview
Riverside Healthcare is seeking a skilled and compassionate CT Technologist to join our Imaging Services team in Kankakee, Illinois. The CT Technologist will be responsible for performing high-quality computed tomography (CT) scans to assist in diagnosing and treating patients. This position requires a strong understanding of imaging techniques, patient care, and safety protocols. Essential Duties
- Perform CT scans in accordance with established protocols and physician orders, ensuring high-quality images for accurate diagnosis.
- Position patients and equipment appropriately for procedures to best demonstrate the anatomic area of interest.
- Select and operate computed tomography equipment, applying principles of radiation safety to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.
- Monitor the status of equipment repairs and preventative maintenance, ensuring that all equipment is properly maintained and functioning.
- Conduct daily quality control (QC) checks on equipment and imaging systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures and provide practical instructions to alleviate anxiety and ensure understanding.
- Assume responsibility for the physical and psychological needs of patients during procedures, providing education and counseling as necessary.
- Monitor patients during the scan, ensuring their comfort and well-being throughout the procedure.
- Perform venipuncture to administer contrast agents or other injectable substances required for radiology procedures, ensuring accurate dosage and patient safety according to established protocols.
