REGISTERED NURSE- INTERVENTIONAL SUITES (PT Days)
Riverside Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Interventional Procedures Registered Nurse (RN) to join our multidisciplinary team in Kankakee, Illinois. This position involves providing high-quality patient care across a range of procedures, including cardiac catheterization, interventional radiology, and neurovascular procedures.
The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced, multi-procedural environment, collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional care before, during, and after various interventional procedures. This role demands strong clinical skills, critical thinking, and the ability to manage patient care across a diverse range of specialties.
Responsibilities:
- Patient Assessment and Care Planning:
Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical, emotional, and psychological needs prior to interventional procedures. - Procedure Assistance and Treatment Administration:
Assist interventional physicians during procedures by administering medications, operating specialized equipment, and closely monitoring patient status. - Patient Monitoring:
Continuously monitor patients' vital signs, physical condition, and response to interventions during and after procedures. - Coordination of Care and
Collaboration:
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of physicians, technologists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care effectively. - Patient and Family
Education:
Educate patients and families about procedures, medical conditions, treatment options, and post-discharge care. - Patient
Experience:
Engage with patients and families in a professional and empathetic manner to promote comfort, trust, and a positive experience. - Emergency Response:
Respond quickly and effectively to emergent situations, such as cardiac arrest or medical complications. - Compliance, Safety, and Infection Control:
Maintain strict adherence to all regulatory standards, infection control protocols, and safety measures. - Documentation:
Maintain precise, detailed documentation of patient assessments, interventions, treatments, and outcomes. - Flexibility and Team Contribution:
Demonstrate flexibility by adapting to different assignments within the professional scope of duties.
Requirements:
- Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Minimum of 1 year previous Cath Lab or Critical Care experience or 2 years critical care preferred.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred or obtained within 6 months of hire.
Working Conditions:
- Exposure to chemicals, blood and body fluids, and infectious diseases.
- Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs and stand for long periods.
- Must be available for on-call shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
