Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an RN for an Emergency Department night shift position requiring an IL RN license and BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.

• Position is in an Emergency Department within a hospital setting
• Night shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
• 13-week travel assignment
• Patient population includes emergency and acute care cases
• Responsible for the delivery of safe patient care using the nursing process
• Directs and guides patient and family teaching as well as activities of other nursing personnel
• Must be able to respond quickly and accurately to patient condition changes
• Knowledge of EMTALA regulations and mandatory reporting of abuse required
• Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality
• Team structure includes direct collaboration with physicians and hospital social workers

• Active IL RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from American Heart Association or Red Cross required
• Minimum of one year of experience as a staff RN in an acute care hospital setting preferred, with emergency room experience preferred
• NIHSS certification required
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation skills required
• ENPC certification preferred
• Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) and BSN preferred
• Completion of Workplace Violence Prevention training (e.g., DCI/BVP) required
