LPN- MILLER

Overview

Riverside Medical Center is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) team in Kankakee, Illinois. The LPN provides direct nursing care under the supervision of an RN or physician, performing a range of clinical tasks, administering medications, assisting with overall resident care, and ensuring high standards of care.

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians or directed by the RN within scope of practice.
• Monitor and document residents' vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration).
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility.
• Perform routine procedures (wound care, catheterization, insertion of feeding tubes).
• Answer call lights and provide prompt assistance.
• Conduct ongoing assessments of residents' health status and response to treatments.
• Collaborate with RN, physicians, and team to develop individualized care plans.
• Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with facility policies, regulations, and HIPAA.
• Practice infection control, including hand hygiene and PPE usage.
• Respond promptly to medical emergencies and follow emergency protocols.
• Mentor and guide less experienced staff; promote a positive environment.
• Stay current with best practices through continuing education and required training.

• Completion of an LPN program and active LPN license in Illinois.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Previous experience in a skilled nursing or long‑term care environment (preferred).
• Strong clinical skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Compassionate, patient‑centered approach with commitment to quality care.
• Ability to handle physical demands described below.

• Time on feet: 40% of shift; standing 25%; walk 25%; sit 10%.
• Weight lifting: up to 10 lbs frequently, up to 20 lbs frequently, up to 35 lbs frequently.
• Activities such as lifting and carrying patients with assistive equipment, using PPE.
• Ability to lift 10 lbs up to 365 days a year with assistive lifting equipment; highest should not exceed 35 lbs.
• Repetitive hand use, fine manipulation, and typing on computer.
• Exposure to chemicals, blood and body fluids, airborne pathogens – use of PPE required.

Pay Range: USD $31.09 – $40.40 per hour.
