Our client, a well-established commercial electrical contractor, is looking to add an Electrical Estimator to their growing team. This role will focus on developing competitive estimates for large commercial projects in the $300K–$10M range. The position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys collaborating with teams, working closely with general contractors and vendors, and ensuring projects start on a solid financial foundation.
SeniorElectrical Estimator Responsibilities
- Review project drawings, plans, and specifications to create comprehensive cost projections.
- Develop and submit timely bid proposals for medium to large commercial electrical projects.
- Utilize estimating software to perform quantity takeoffs and build proposals.
- Coordinate with project management to ensure smooth transitions from estimate to execution.
- Maintain accurate records of bids, estimates, and proposal documentation.
- Build strong working relationships with general contractors, suppliers, and trade partners.
- Attend site visits and pre-bid meetings as needed.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes and strategies.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience preparing electrical estimates, preferably for commercial or industrial work.
- In-depth knowledge of electrical construction methods, materials, and systems.
- Proficiency with estimating platforms; experience in Con Est is a plus.
- Strong ability to read and interpret construction documents, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable managing multiple bids and deadlines independently.
- Collaborative mindset with interest in mentoring less experienced staff.
