The Accounting Supervisor is charged with overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department. This leader is also expected and will be required to dedicate time to supervising, mentoring, training, and directing accounting staff. This role will primarily be responsible for oversight of Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Tax functions of the company. Additionally, the role will assist with oversight of month‑end/year‑end close processes and ensure the accuracy and timely completion of all financial records in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and regulatory requirements.

- Supervise and mentor accounting staff, serving as a resource for technical guidance, career development, and personal growth.
- Lead, manage, and develop the Accounts Receivable team, ensuring operational excellence.
- Design and implement AR strategies, including invoicing, collections, automation, and point‑of‑sale activities.
- Identify, evaluate, and implement software solutions to enhance Accounts Payable processes.
- Optimize existing systems (ERP, Salesforce) to improve Accounts Receivable workflows.
- Lead, manage, and develop the Accounts Payable team, driving efficiency and accuracy.
- Identify and execute systems and software solutions in the AP department to support significant volume increases.
- Act as the primary coordinator and subject‑matter expert for tax filings, including sales tax, income tax, foreign subsidiaries, property taxes, and incentive programs.
- Serve as a key contributor to annual projects, such as year‑end inventory counts.
- Take ownership of ad‑hoc projects supporting company growth and scalability.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable accounting standards.
- Coordinate audit activities, providing oversight and support to accounting staff during audits.
- Lead projects with bank examiners and assist the accounting team throughout the process.
- Manage projects involving third‑party parts and equipment appraisers, ensuring accurate valuations.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Proven experience managing projects focused on Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable software enhancements.
- Strong background in handling complex billing transactions involving multiple municipalities and numerous end customers within a single transaction.
- Prior experience working with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) is highly desirable.
- The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.
- May require duties performed in a warehouse or production setting, including exposure to loud noises.
- Work in a stationary position up to 75% of the time.
