Admin Assistant

A&K Railroad Materials Inc. is looking for an organized, dependable Administrative Assistant to join our Fasteners & Special Products team in Kansas City, KS. This is an entry-level opportunity for someone who enjoys working with computers, keeping information organized, and supporting a hardworking team.

You don't need extensive industry experience to succeed. We're looking for a self-starter with strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and a willingness to learn.

You'll help keep our daily operations organized by maintaining records, tracking materials, and supporting communication between departments. Your responsibilities will include:

• Maintaining accurate purchase order, plan, and product records using Microsoft 365 and other software.
• Coordinating with internal teams to help prioritize projects and ensure materials arrive on time.
• Assisting with inventory counts, inventory records, and basic accounting tasks related to purchasing and materials.
• Providing product information for bids and other requests while helping the team manage deadlines and daily priorities.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new computer systems.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work well with others.

No specialized purchasing or inventory experience is required. Previous administrative, inventory, or customer service experience is helpful, but we're most interested in someone who is reliable, motivated, and ready to learn.
