A leading food manufacturer is seeking a skilled Plant Engineer to oversee packaging and process optimization, lead technical initiatives, and collaborate cross‑functionally to improve quality and efficiency at its Bethlehem, PA facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose technical issues and lead improvement initiatives across departments
  • Supervise and develop a team of up to 5 FTEs
  • Optimize packaging and machinery settings for quality and cost
  • Collaborate with production and maintenance to resolve quality challenges
  • Maintain packaging specs and documentation
  • Coordinate with sales on new product and packaging requests
  • Lead trials and feasibility analysis for new products
  • Partner with suppliers on packaging development and trial execution
  • Develop project plans and manage timeline, budget, and quality milestones
  • Select appropriate materials, equipment, and packaging per project needs
  • Evaluate product design and performance against customer requirements
  • Monitor new equipment and packaging until performance standards are met
  • Provide daily technical support across production, quality, R&D, and engineering
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • Experience in food/beverage manufacturing preferred; aseptic processing a major plus
  • Highly self‑motivated with strong learning agility and minimal supervision required
  • Skilled in identifying effective solutions and troubleshooting complex issues
  • Strong analytical abilities in calculus and trigonometry
  • Flexible and responsive to changing processes and requirements
  • Able to balance safety, efficiency, and cost constraints effectively
  • Excellent organizational skills and Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Familiar with GMPs and HACCP regulatory standards
