A leading food manufacturer is seeking a skilled Plant Engineer to oversee packaging and process optimization, lead technical initiatives, and collaborate cross‑functionally to improve quality and efficiency at its Bethlehem, PA facility.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose technical issues and lead improvement initiatives across departments
- Supervise and develop a team of up to 5 FTEs
- Optimize packaging and machinery settings for quality and cost
- Collaborate with production and maintenance to resolve quality challenges
- Maintain packaging specs and documentation
- Coordinate with sales on new product and packaging requests
- Lead trials and feasibility analysis for new products
- Partner with suppliers on packaging development and trial execution
- Develop project plans and manage timeline, budget, and quality milestones
- Select appropriate materials, equipment, and packaging per project needs
- Evaluate product design and performance against customer requirements
- Monitor new equipment and packaging until performance standards are met
- Provide daily technical support across production, quality, R&D, and engineering
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- Experience in food/beverage manufacturing preferred; aseptic processing a major plus
- Highly self‑motivated with strong learning agility and minimal supervision required
- Skilled in identifying effective solutions and troubleshooting complex issues
- Strong analytical abilities in calculus and trigonometry
- Flexible and responsive to changing processes and requirements
- Able to balance safety, efficiency, and cost constraints effectively
- Excellent organizational skills and Microsoft Office proficiency
- Familiar with GMPs and HACCP regulatory standards
