MEP Project Manager

Our client is seeking a MEP project manager to oversee a hyperscale data center project near the Kansas City metro area. This will be a retrofit of an existing warehouse into a 75MW facility. The current project is expected to run through Q1 of 2028.

MEP Manager:

• Owner's rep - subcontractor / contractor interaction
• 3rd party commissioning manager working for the owner
• Bringing systems in, working with a contractor
• Experience with both mechanical and electrical system management
• Managing the design team as part of responsibilities
• Small project team, PM / MEP manager / Scheduling / Cost manager
• MEP support the project manager in all things MEP
• Working with the design team, commissioning team, rest of the project team
• Liaison between the design team / owner / GC
• Owner's rep - making decisions for the owner
• Strongly preferred having onsite experience - have a PM handling a lot of the contracts / negotiations. This person more boots on the ground.
• Good communicator, design professionals, work well with the contractors.
• Interface with the contractors
• Understand systems well enough, construction processes etc
• Industry background - systems and processes
• Chillers / electrical systems / MV / industrial
• Both electrical and mechanical experience - need to have both. At the manager level
• Manager experience is helpful - manage contracts - no headcount - doing everything through contractors, communicate directly

Experience Needed:

• Minimum of 7 years of experience
• Minimum of 3 years of management experience
• Degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering preferred (Not required)
• Experience with large scale industrial, semiconductor, pharmaceutical or data center projects
• Experience coordinating with general contractors from the owner's side
