Job Description SummaryThe Senior Scientist in the Department of Radiology is responsible for advancing magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) research within the Cerebrovascular Imaging and Analytics (CInA) Laboratory. The position focuses on investigating cerebrovascular pathology and its relationship to glymphatic function to improve understanding of the neurobiology underlying Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. This role develops and applies advanced MRI acquisition, processing, and analysis methods to achieve accurate and reproducible measures of brain physiology.
Job Duties- Design and optimize imaging pipelines, refine analysis workflows, and ensure methodological rigor across studies.
- Preprocess and pipeline functional, structural MRI, and DTI data, and analyze data for presentation.
- Enhance computer scripts and analytical pipelines to improve data processing and reproducibility.
- Contribute to manuscript preparation, grant proposals, and dissemination of research findings.
- Conduct literature reviews and maintain expertise in emerging neuroimaging methods.
- Mentor and guide analysts, trainees, and research staff in neuroimaging methods and best practices.
- 9 years of relevant experience or education substitution on a year‑for‑year basis.
- Knowledge of MRI methods and neuroscience applications demonstrated by application materials.
- Experience with a command‑line environment (UNIX, MATLAB, Python, R).
- Two years of neuroimaging data processing experience.
- Two years of Unix and shell scripting experience.
- Two years of experience with Python, MATLAB, and/or R programming.
- Experience with fMRIPrep, DTIPrep, QSIPrep, and machine‑learning frameworks (PyTorch).
- PhD in engineering, biomedical engineering, medical physics, physics, chemistry, biostatistics, computational neuroscience, or related field.
