Registered Dietitian

Schedule- Per Diem – (Flexible hours) Tuesday or Wednesday;
Saturday or Sunday. - Required
Hours:
24 hours over a 6‑week period
$38.00 per hour

- Provide quality nutritional care, including development, implementation, and monitoring of Medical Nutrition Therapies.
- Work collaboratively with medical staff, patients, families, and food service department to implement nutrition care plans and maintain departmental standards.
- Perform nutritional assessments, re‑assessments, recommend interventions, and monitor patient progress.
- Develop and monitor enteral and/or parenteral nutrition support regimens.
- Collaborate with Speech Therapy Department to progress textured modified diets for patient safety and oral intake optimization.
- Clarify admission orders to align with the facility’s nutrition support formulary and diet manual.
- Consider religious, cultural, and ethnic factors in nutrition care plans.
- Review and approve the therapeutic diet manual annually; educate staff on manual location and maintain hard copies.
- Maintain current professional registration and pursue continuing education and specialized certification.
- Evaluate potential food/drug or herb/supplement interactions.
- Attend interdisciplinary team meetings and communicate progress and special needs.
- Participate in menu development, planning, and standardization.
- Perform meal rounds to ensure trays meet prescribed diet and quality standards.
- Bachelor’s degree majoring in Food and Nutrition or a related field.
- Current state licensure/certification, if required by state.
- Current registration with the Commission on Dietetics Registration.
- One (1) year of clinical experience in a facility setting with clinical responsibilities.
