Position:
Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) - PRN Days

Shift: PRN Days (Weekends/Holidays 8:00am-4:30pm or 8:30am-5:00pm employee choice in advance)

About the Unit: 48‑bed Acute Rehab Unit (ARU) located in NKC Health Main Hospital Building. Fast‑paced, team of over 25 full‑time therapists.

• Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision
• Must work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
• Implements treatment plan developed by supervising therapists using appropriate modalities
• Seeks consultation as necessary
• Monitors patient's responses to the treatment plan
• Communicates patient progress and possible goal revisions to physical therapist
• Documents services provided and patient response/progress
• Educates patient and family/caregiver about deficits
• Assists with patient discharge planning
• Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and community support programs

• Degree from accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
• Current and unrestricted PTA license in the state where services are rendered
• Associate's degree required; graduate of program in discipline required
• Current CPR certification
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire
