Job Purpose And SummaryAs a Technician, you will support the pharmacy team in ensuring patient prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately while delivering an exceptional customer experience. You will apply Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), best practices, and effective communication across all aspects of the pharmacy workflow. After completing rigorous training and required licensing, you will have expanded responsibilities, including potential immunization support.
Key Responsibilities- Follow SOPs at each workstation to help pharmacists manage and improve patient health.
- Process prescriptions accurately across production, pick‑up, drive‑thru, and drop‑off workflows.
- Provide empathetic, personalized customer service and assist patients with immunizations and other clinical services.
- Perform basic inventory tasks such as putting away medication deliveries, cycle counts, and managing waiting bin inventories.
- Collaborate with pharmacy team members, seeking opportunities for professional growth and feedback.
- Maintain flexibility for scheduling and business needs, including traveling to other stores if required.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local regulations, CVS policies, and ethical standards.
- When qualified, assist with additional patient health services (e.g., immunizations, point‑of‑care testing).
- Meet state board of pharmacy requirements, including age, education, and licensing or certification as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or active enrollment in a high‑school‑equivalency program if no higher minimum is mandated.
- State‑level licensure and national certification as required by the state of work.
- Ability to complete required training within the designated timeframe.
- Strong customer‑service orientation and effective communication skills.
- Basic mathematical reasoning for prescription calculations.
- Physical capability to lift, reach, and work for extended periods, with occasional lifting up to 20 lbs.
- 1–3 years of previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer‑service setting.
- Willingness to work across market locations to meet business needs.
