Compensation Range

Hourly: $24.05 - $27.60 (amount based on relevant experience, skills, and competencies)

About This Job

The main purpose of this job is to monitor Commerce Bank's Data Center and Network Production Environments including Enterprise servers, SNA Network Connectivity, Applications, Servers, Midrange and Tandem and Batch production window.

Work Schedule
  • Thursday - Saturday 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, Alternating Wednesdays 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Essential Functions
  • Ensure appropriate escalation and documentation of incidents
  • Provide backup to the Shift Manager and technical leadership in solving issues and support the daily tasks and accountabilities in the datacenter as assigned by the Shift Manager
  • Prepare and participate in a shift turnover process and discuss current and ongoing issues with the incoming shift
  • Manage and assist support vendors while they are on site following documented procedures
  • Participate in IT recovery tests by performing documented recovery steps
  • Monitor the datacenter infrastructure components such as UPS, AC, generators, Fire Suppression Systems
  • Monitor and elevate issues with applications, computers, network, and security systems running in the datacenter environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
  • Basic knowledge of monitoring software, problem ticketing systems, and data center environments with emphasis on application support skill sets
  • Basic understanding of large‑scale data center emergency processes and procedures
  • Ability to cover all the functions performed in the data center
  • Ability to create and edit technical procedures
  • Basic team management and informal leadership skills to cover for Shift Manager
  • Motivated and organized self‑starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Inquisitive, and strong team player with excellent verbal, and communication skills
  • Ability to interact with others in a close team environment in a positive manner. Support our culture and Core Values
  • Proficiency with desktop computer systems, communication devices, and related software
Education & Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • 3+ years of large‑scale data center and application monitoring support experience required
  • Relevant certifications such as: A+, Net+, Calix E5, CompTIA A+ preferred
  • Preferred knowledge of the following area(s):
    Microsoft Networking, MVS, JES2, VTAM, ISPF, SDSF, JAVA, Qbasic, SQL(Oracle 8i), TSO, HTML, Lucent Stinger, Lucent MRT, Calix C & E platforms, Redback and ALU
    7750, Citrix, CCNA, JNCIA‑JUNOS, VCTA‑NV, Microsoft Fundamentals

This compensation range is for the Network Ops Specialist I job and contemplates a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to location, skill sets, education, relevant experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.

A reasonable estimate of the current base pay is $24.05 to $27.60 per hour.
