Forklift Operator

Position Title: Forklift Operator

Wage: $20.00/hour

Shift: 1st

Hours: 5:50am-2:00pm Monday-Friday

We are currently seeking candidates for a sit-down forklift role located in the Kansas City, KS area. This company also offers a family-oriented work environment and the opportunity to participate in profit sharing once hired on permanently. This is a potential to hire opportunity on 1st shift.

Forklift Operator Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Operation and care of forklift in a safe manner; must be qualified to properly operate the forklift
• Locate stock before the start of the run
• Unload and load trucks in a careful and responsible manner
• Complete necessary paperwork in an accurate and timely manner
• Maximize the utilization of equipment by operating the machinery at available capacity and speed
• Maintain neat, orderly, and safe stacks of stock in storage areas
• Adhere to daily production schedule; make recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality, delivery, and service goals
• Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping
• Manuel floor dock: must lift floor chain independently with hands or with king pin puller to pick up and close dock floor securely

Forklift Operator Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Prior work experience in the corrugated industry preferred
• Prior work experience as a forklift operator and currently certified
• Previous manual labor experience is a must
• Routinely lift to 55 pounds and multi-task to keep up with tight production schedules
• Sit for prolonged period
• Lifting floor chain to open floor dock
• Ability to read and comprehend written, oral, and graphic form of instructions
• Ability to read a tape measure
• Basic math skills are required
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong work ethics and excellent attendance will be the key to long-term success
