The Quality Control Manager plans, directs and coordinates all on-site QC activities to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Create, update and maintain the project submittal log and all other project-specific quality control reports.
  • Review shop drawings and submittals for conformance with project specifications, using direct review and collaboration with project team members as needed.
  • Chair and document weekly QC meetings with the superintendent and provide written minutes as described in project documents.
  • Provide daily QC reports to confirm conformance with project standards and address non-conformances to achieve timely outcomes.
  • Conduct preparatory, initial and follow-up meetings to establish expected standards of care for each definable work feature.
  • Verify and document that all materials received are in conformance with the approved submittal, are handled/stored properly, and are acceptable for use.
  • Conduct preconstruction meetings with new and existing subcontractors and the superintendent at least two days before each new phase to discuss quality issues.
  • Coordinate and document testing and commissioning of building systems.
  • Maintain the project "as-built" drawings on a daily basis.
  • Assemble and forward project closeout documents, including O&M manuals, as-builts and warranties.
  • Stop work when necessary to resolve matters affecting safety, quality or progress.
  • Support and facilitate the commissioning process.
  • Conduct upfront investigations to anticipate unusual installation requirements and expedite inspection/sign-off procedures.
  • Push back when requests are outside the contract scope.
  • Identify cost-efficient ways to fulfill contract requirements related to specification conformance and system sign-off.
  • Collaborate to find solutions when QC issues arise.
Job Scope

The Quality Control Manager will oversee the documentation and on-site inspection phase of the workflow, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to produce and document a quality product.

Education & Experience
  • B.S. degree in engineering or construction management.
  • Minimum five years of related experience.
  • Combination of high school diploma with QC experience and certifications will be considered.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of a wide range of construction materials, methods, and techniques.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills, including diplomacy and persuasion, to foster professional relationships.
  • Strategic thinking and effective problem-solving; maintain a "One Company" focus.
  • Time management and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict-management skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deliver results.
  • Self-motivation and ongoing learning of new technical practices in the controls industry.
  • Ability to support multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Clear communication and good judgment.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
Physical and Travel Demands
  • Work is performed on project sites and in the office.
  • Routine driving to project sites; may require travel or relocation to manage projects outside the regional office area.
  • Physical demands include walking on uneven surfaces, climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, lifting; position includes sitting/standing, use of telephone, keyboard, and computer monitor.
Benefits and Compensation
  • Salary range: $88,880 to $125,500
    . Final offer determined based on experience, education, specialty, and training.
