Summary:
A research assistant (RA) position is available immediately in the newly established laboratory of Dr. Prakash Kharel (Laboratory of RNA Biology and Therapeutics). The candidate will work as part of a diverse research group, employing multiple biochemical, biophysical, molecular, cellular, and genetic approaches focusing on determining how RNA secondary structures play critical roles in RNA biology. The RA will work on a number of projects in the lab as needs arise.

- Perform biochemical, biophysical, molecular, and cellular research focusing on determining RNA structure function relationship.
- Assist in ordering and general lab duties by using Workday.
- Design and perform general lab experiments that include, but are not limited to, RNA isolation, RNA synthesis and purification, protein expression and purification, tissue culture, and molecular biology.

Required Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry or related field. Experience may be substituted for education on a year for year basis.
- Minimum of 4 years experience with lab research.
- Experience in either cellular biology, molecular biology, or biochemistry.
