Summary:
A research assistant (RA) position is available immediately in the newly established laboratory of Dr. Prakash Kharel (Laboratory of RNA Biology and Therapeutics). The candidate selected for the position will work as part of a diverse research group, employing multiple biochemical, biophysical, molecular, cellular, and genetic approaches focusing on determining how RNA secondary structures play critical roles in RNA biology.

Job Description:
Key Roles and Responsibilities:- Perform biochemical, biophysical, molecular, and cellular research focusing on determining RNA structure function relationship.
- Assist in ordering and general lab duties by using Workday.
- Design and perform general lab experiments that include, but are not limited to, RNA isolation, RNA synthesis and purification, protein expression and purification, tissue culture, and molecular biology.

Required Qualifications:- Education: Bachelors degree in Biochemistry or related field. Experience may be substituted for education on a year for year basis.
- Work Experience: 4 years experience with lab research
- Work Experience: Experience in either cellular biology, molecular biology, or biochemistry.

Compensation Statement:The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above.
PayRange:
$22.66 - $32.85 (Minimum $22.66, Midpoint $27.75, Maximum $32.85)
