Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Electrician/ Electrician Installation
We are currently searching for a candidate who will install equipment, train customers, execute warranty repairs, and provide after-warranty service on CNC Lathes and Machining Centers. Field Service Technicians are assigned regional responsibilities and operate directly from their residences. This position reports to the Southwest Technology Center in Houston, TX. Duties involve overnight travel from home to various customer facilities, primarily in the Kansas City, KS area.
Travel is required.
Scope and Responsibilities:
Essential duties include, but are not limited to:
- Proactively ensure a safe and healthy work environment for all employees
- Install machines and accessories at customer sites, including assembly, leveling, aligning, adjusting, calibrating, and wiring
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and software problems on machines and accessories at customer sites
- Test operation of machines and accessories after installation or repairs
- Train customers on machine functions
- Learn new machine features and accessories as they become available
- Complete reports documenting installation, problem assessment, repairs, and parts used
- Travel is required, with assignments requiring overnight or multiple-night stays
Education/Certification:
- 2-year technical training in electronics, mechanical systems, or machine tool assembly
Skills:
- 3-7 years of experience in Field Service
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
- Ability to work independently or in a team to complete tasks
- Understanding of PLCs
- Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic circuits
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly
- Periodic heavier lifting in excess of 50 lbs
