Landscape Laborer

Position Overview

Focal Pointe of Kansas City, LLC is looking to fill 38 Landscape Laborer positions in KS – Johnson, Leavenworth, Marion & Wyandotte Counties; MO – Jackson & Cass Counties. This is a temporary, full‑time position starting on 2/10/2026 and ending on 11/10/2026.

• Mow, cut, water, and edge lawns; rake and blow leaves.
• Dig holes using hand tools (max depth/width 4 ft) to install sprinklers and/or plant.
• Pull, chop weeds, prune, and haul topsoil and mulch.
• Assist with sprinkler installation and the installation of mortarless segmental concrete masonry wall units.
• Demonstrate tasks to other employees (if requested), but the position does not include supervision.
• Load and unload tools, supplies, and equipment weighing up to 50 lb.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions; involve extensive standing, sitting, walking, stooping, bending, and repetitive movements.

Hourly rate: $20.15 to $22.15. Minimum of 40 hours per week – Monday to Friday (with potential Saturday work). Workday: 6:30 AM to 3:30 PM (schedules may vary). Daily work hours may change with weather or job assignments. Overtime rate: $30.23 to $33.23. Possibility of performance‑based raise, bonuses, and overtime.

Post‑hire, employer‑paid drug test and background check. 60 minutes of unpaid breaks throughout the day. Optional elective uniform cleaning deduction $18.50 per pay period (deductions will not reduce the wage below the UDSOL minimum).

Transportation:
Employer will provide advance transportation costs for most economical common carrier from the central Kansas City location to work sites and reimburse subsistence during travel. Upon completion or earlier dismissal, employer will pay or reimburse reasonable return transportation costs back to original departure location.

Travel allowance:
Daily subsistence reimbursed at a minimum of $16.28 per day, up to $68.00 per 24‑hour period (with receipts).

Housing:
If requested, employer may assist non‑local workers in securing optional worker‑paid lodging (not to exceed fair market value). Housing costs will be paid directly to the landlord and are not payroll deducted.

Three‑quarters guarantee:
Employer guarantees work for hours equal to at least three‑quarters of the workdays in each 12‑week period of the total employment period.

Tools and supplies:
Employer provides all tools and supplies without charge or deposit.

Payment:
Wages computed weekly; pay is bi‑weekly.

Legal deductions:
Employer will make all deductions required by law and will not make any deductions not required by law unless agreed to.

H‑2B Workers who pay visa-related fees (border or other) will be reimbursed by employer in the first work week.
