Job Summary

Responsible for providing accounting support to Corporate Controller and other accounting staff within the department. Ensures files are complete and maintained as needed, handles accounts payable and accounts receivable duties.

Responsible for collecting and analyzing cost accounting data for goods made and sold.

Primary responsibilities

• Performing monthly closing activities including preparation of manufacturing variances along with supporting analysis.
• Proactive analysis of variances and communication of issues and opportunities to operations management and senior management.
• Setting up Bills of Materials and product codes as needed.
• Helping to develop labor and overhead burden rates.
• Closing work orders and verifying raw material pricing.
• Processing inventory adjustments based on information provided from production.
• Balance out inventory subsidiary ledger to general ledger every month.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education and Experience

• 2+ years’ experience in cost accounting for a manufacturing company.
• Bachelor’s degree in cost or manufacturing accounting.
• MS Office experience especially Excel and knowledge of accounting software.
• Microsoft Excel Skills – high level
• Able to work with all levels of management
• Ability to meet communicated deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Problem-solving
• Ability to multi-task
