This opportunity entails being responsible for managing the workflow of the Accounts Payable department. The Supervisor will oversee maintaining and developing accounts payable procedures and processes. Along with performing a leadership role, this position will be responsible for a variety of accounts payable processes including, but not limited to, invoice and expense report processing.
What You ll Do:- Oversee, manage, coach, and develop the accounts payable associates, including the offshore accounts payable team.
- Support the management and maintenance of the Company s financial ERP (general ledger) system to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Participate in the evaluation, implementation, and testing of new financial information systems and system upgrades on existing financial information systems.
- Be responsible for the accuracy and completeness of accounts payable related transactions entered into the ERP system.
- Resolve inconsistencies, issues, and recommendations escalated from accounts payable associates and the offshore team.
- Review and enter invoices and/or accounts payable adjustments in the ERP.
- Review expense reports for corporate compliance and assist accounts payable associates and offshore team with questions.
- Process vendor and subconsultant payments and employee reimbursements.
- Monitor AP email for special requests, providing timely responses and solutions or escalating as appropriate.
- Work closely with division, office, and operations staff related to accounts payable matters and transactions.
- Supervise weekly and monthly close procedures.
- Review account payable related account reconciliations.
- Be responsible for the completion and timely distribution of departmental key metrics and reporting.
- Manage the enrollment of vendors and subconsultants to receive electronic payments.
- Identify and implement enhancements to the design and effectiveness of the department s internal control environment.
- Identify and implement opportunities within the department and across other functional areas to support process efficiency.
- Prepare other ad hoc reporting and special projects as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Associate s degree in Accounting or related field and 6 years of relevant experience, or in lieu of education 8 years of relevant experience.
- 1 year supervisory experience.
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
- Able to operate in a fast-paced organization and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to interact effectively and cooperatively with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
- Ability to work independently and complete projects with little supervision.
- Ability to manage and develop team members.
