Student Accounts Coordinator

Part Time Kansas City, MO, US

Position Summary

The Student Accounts Coordinator plays a vital role in the efficient operation of the Student Accounts Office within the university. This position primarily focuses on supporting student billing and providing exceptional customer service to students and their families. This role will focus on assisting students with inquiries and concerns regarding their financial obligations to the university.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Student Accounts Office shared email inbox.
  • Generate reports on the current status of customer accounts as requested.
  • Support the university's student accounts department with assisting students and their families with inquiries related to their accounts.
  • Develop and document procedures and policies in the student billing functions
  • Supervise the payment plan process, including reviewing and monitoring accounts and maintaining proper restriction holds on delinquent payment plans on student accounts.
  • Assist and support students over the phone, by email, and in-person with issues related to collection inquiries and payment plan inquiries, including payment plan enrollment and cancellation.
  • Assist with preparing internal training material for staff.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for students and families regarding financial matters.
  • Respond to inquiries via phone, email, and in-person visits regarding student accounts, billing statements, payment, and financial holds.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree or equivalent coursework, Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Proven experience providing administrative support, preferably in higher education.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and scheduling, records, and database systems
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to student financial aid and billing preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Multilingual skills highly preferred.
  • Contributions to a climate that supports a diverse student body, serves first-generation college students, multilingual learners, and contributions to equity and social justice through their work.
