CUMULUS MEDIA | KANSAS CITY is looking for an Afternoon Show Host to join KCMO Talk Radio 95.7FM, Kansas City’s Talk Station. Do you have strong opinions? Do you love talking about the top news, culture, political and sports stories of the day? Then this is your dream gig.
The ideal candidate must demonstrate effective audience engagement on all platforms, which is not exclusive to over-the-air radio. Podcasters, You Tubers, Tik Tokers are welcome to apply. The future of Talk Radio is engaging content with entertaining hosts guiding the daily conversation. Can you engage and hold an audience? Does your content draw audience reaction? Key Responsibilities:- Station ambassador: go-to personality on and off the air.
- Social content creator: engaging posts, videos, and podcasts.
- Collaborator with programming, sales, listeners and clients.
- Contribute to maintaining and growing the station’s ratings and revenue.
- Work the phones to maximize engagement over the air and entertain regular people.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience hosting a full-time show with a history of ratings success.
- Informed with an eye for topical content and a balanced perceptive; imaginative, creative, resourceful; up-to-date and intuitively tuned-in to current trends.
- Collaborative and work well in a team environment.
- Strong production skills.
- Proficient with Op-X (or similar radio automation systems) and Vox Pro (or similar).
- Experienced with social media platforms and how to make them most effective.
- Demo/aircheck of on-air work, social media handles and commercial samples must be included with your online profile/application.
