Layout Designer

City Lifestyle is looking for a full-time Layout Designer to move quickly through projects and who possess the ability to multi-task. Layout Designers work with heavy autonomy in a team atmosphere with other design experts who collectively produce publications according to their sphere of expertise. The role of a layout designer reports to the Art Director to ensure clarity of brand standards across publications.

This is a remote role, but residency in Kansas City is still required.

This individual must possess the following skills:

• The candidate must be well versed in Adobe Creative Cloud. Specifically, our team works primarily in InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop Creative Cloud.
• Strong communication skills are necessary. Our designers need to communicate effectively and clearly with individuals who may be unfamiliar with design formats and terminology.
• Work experience is not required for this position, however a strong visual portfolio is a must.
• The ability to multi-task and accomplish jobs quickly.
• The desire to work in a fast paced environment.
• A creative mind with a highly-developed visual sense.
• Ability to adapt to growth within our rapidly expanding company. Self-induced initiative is greatly desired.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Open to constructive criticism.

• Degree in graphic design or comparable work experience with demonstrated proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud is a must.
• Residence in the Kansas City area.
• The ability to quickly create effective layouts for print.
• Ability to anticipate and stay abreast of design trends.
• A sense of accountability for the projects you oversee.
