The Behavioral Coach Trainer in the Learning and Development department is responsible for improving the quality of work and productivity of employees by assessing developmental needs, designing and implementing training initiatives, and ensuring 100% compliance across Beacon markets.
Primary Responsibilities- Schedule and deliver engaging training sessions, workshops, and virtual instructor‑led courses to meet company goals.
- Implement all regulated and developmental training for assigned Beacon areas, including onboarding, shadow shifts, and competency training for Direct Support Professionals and direct care staff.
- Ensure all training courses meet state licensing and regulatory requirements.
- Provide live and virtual training, monitor virtual learning via LMS.
- Foster a positive learning environment, engage staff, and adjust for learning styles.
- Monitor training needs for DSPs and other staff, identify gaps, and support development.
- Consult with managers and supervisors to assess training needs and support development.
- Observe operations and ensure policies are followed; provide feedback and support for improvement.
- Promote a robust learning environment and ensure access to top‑of‑the‑line training.
- Provide feedback to subject‑matter experts on instructional design and training techniques.
- Provide documentation and reporting on training activities, ensure compliance tracking, and contribute to leadership training reports.
- Conduct follow‑up studies of completed training to evaluate results.
- Provide coaching on de‑escalation strategies and ABA techniques, observe staff interactions, deliver real‑time coaching, model appropriate practices, track progress, collaborate with supervisors, and reinforce best practices.
- Work effectively as a team member with HR, Recruiting, and managers.
- Assist with job fairs, onboarding calls, and meet weekly productivity goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree preferred in Instructional Design, Education, Organizational Development, Human Resources, or related field.
- BCABA, RBT, BCBA, or other ABA certification preferred.
- Two years of experience as trainer/facilitator.
- Understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
- Highly organized and motivated.
- Effective communicator, verbal and written.
- Basic computer skills.
- Must maintain trainer certification in de‑escalation program as required.
- Must maintain trainer certification in CPR, QPR, Gentle Teaching, or other programs as required.
- Must pass criminal background check.
- Must possess a valid Driver's License.
- Proficient in English (speaking, reading, writing).
- Approved by state, federal and government entities to work within BSLS programs.
Regular local travel to client sites.
