Requirements
  • Previous experience working with youth strongly preferred
  • Applicants will be chosen based on experience and availability, with a priority given to those with previous experience working with youth
  • Must ensure every camper is safe and accounted for
  • Must be able to actively engage with students (no personal cell phone use while supervising or interacting with campers)
  • Must attend camp training
  • Must be flexible and willing to move between camps as needed
  • Must be very reliable in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods. For elementary and lower school, sit on the floor for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids
  • Ability to hear and understand speech at normal classroom levels, outdoors, and on the telephone
  • Ability to speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in normal classrooms, outdoors, and on the telephone
  • Physical ability to lift, carry and/or hold up to 25 pounds to shoulder height and 50 pounds to waist height
  • Ability to occasionally balance, reach, bend, squat, stoop, or kneel
  • Ability to climb stairs, walk, and occasionally run, if required
  • Ability to set up, move, and take down recreational and water-play equipment (such as portable water slides, sprinklers, and hoses)
  • Ability to be outdoors for extended periods in summer conditions and to participate in walking trips with students
Summer Assistant – Begins May 2026

The Summer at Pembroke Hill program is currently accepting applications for Summer Assistants for the 2026 program. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, actively participating in each assigned class, assisting with the setup and cleanup of activities, supervising students at recess, lunch and/or extended care and maintaining a safe environment for students at all times. Assistants can choose to work in our Early Childhood division (2 year olds to PreK) or Lower School division (K-5) or a combination of both.

Schedule

Program runs from June 1 to August 7, and is closed the week of June 29–July
3. There are also opportunities to work childcare May 26–29 and August 10–21. Applicants should be available for the core summer dates and required pre-camp training. Schedules will typically range from 20–40 hours per week between 8 a.m.–4 p.m., with additional Extended Day hours available from 3:30–6:00 p.m.

Compensation

Starts at $15/hr and increases based on experience.
