Position: 2025-2026 Assistant Boys Basketball Coach (Paseo Middle School)
PURPOSE OF JOB:
Provide instruction, leadership, and supervision to middle school students participating in the sports program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist with practices by emphasizing teamwork, skill development, learning rules and strategies, and student-athlete improvement.Assist with academic monitoring in collaboration with teachers, counselors, and academic support staff.Supervise student-athletes before, during, and after practices and contests, including in locker rooms, on buses, and at all times. Be punctual for all practices and games and remain until all student-athletes have left.Maintain responsibility for equipment and inventory.Complete all required paperwork, including rosters, physicals, insurance forms, and parent consent forms.Coordinate transportation, facilities, officials, and game management.Conduct oneself and the team ethically during practices and contests, exemplifying high standards of sportsmanship.Assist in the coordination of the sports program.Promote student-athletes' academic and athletic accomplishments.Pursue professional growth through clinics and publications.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:
Must have a Teacher's Certificate, valid Substitute Certificate, or Temporary (provisional) Teacher’s Certificate.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Be a full or part-time employee in the District; employed as a teacher or administrator within the school applying for the position.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical requirements include sitting, standing, walking, speaking, hearing, using hands and fingers, reaching, bending, stooping, and lifting objects of at least 25 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be provided for individuals with disabilities.
