POSITION SUMMARY: BHA is looking for energetic, passionate, and motivated Special Education Teachers to provide care and support to our clients and their families in a school setting. This position is primarily responsible for creating and delivering academic instruction to students at Milestones Academy in their respective hall or classroom. We partner with many service providers and members of our client’s advocate team in order to provide the progress needed.

- Employ special education strategies and techniques during instruction to improve the development of sensory, and perceptual, motor skills, language, cognition, and memory.
- Instruct students in academic subjects using a variety of techniques.
- Provide coaching and modeling on all academic programming.
- Manage caseload of approximately 15 students including all steps of the IEP process.
- Enforce all relevant policies and procedures for KCBH and Milestones Academy.
- Ensures compliance with school district procedures, state, and federal laws in relation to Special Education and IEPs.
- Complete and send quarterly progress reports to parents and school districts.
- Develop curriculum and lesson plans for students.
- Provide direct and indirect instructional support to students in a positive environment.
- Assist in collection of data.
- Develop, provide, and promote regular in‑service training to the Milestones Academy team regarding special education procedures.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned.
- Serve as a role model to establish and foster a positive culture based on trust, respect, collaboration and integrity. Through personal example, establish the style and approach which will characterize the Company’s dealings with the marketplace.
