Purpose of the Job:
Teaches one or more subjects to students in public secondary schools by performing the following duties.
- Instructs students by lecturing, demonstrating, and using audiovisual aids and other materials to supplement presentations.
- Prepares course objectives and outlines for the course of study following curriculum guidelines or state requirements.
- Assigns lessons and corrects homework.
- Administers tests to evaluate pupil progress, records results, and issues reports to inform parents of progress.
- Keeps an attendance record.
- Maintains discipline in the classroom.
- Meets with parents to discuss student progress and problems.
- Participates in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops.
- Performs related duties such as sponsoring one or more activities or student organizations, assisting pupils in selecting a course of study, and counseling students in adjustment and academic problems.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education from a four‑year college orителя university.
- Missouri State Certification in Vocal Music (K‑12). nxt>
- Demonstrated experience and/or training in current techniques and skills for teaching secondary‑level students.
- Teaching experience in urban schools.

Visual ability requires monocular and color vision, close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Termsof Employment
Length of work year: 187 day calendar; 8hrs/day, 5 days/week.
