Purpose of the Job:
Teaches one or more subjects to students in public secondary schools by performing the following duties.

• Instructs students by lecturing, demonstrating, and using audiovisual aids and other materials to supplement presentations.
• Prepares course objectives and outlines for the course of study following curriculum guidelines or state requirements.
• Assigns lessons and corrects homework.
• Administers tests to evaluate pupil progress, records results, and issues reports to inform parents of progress.
• Keeps an attendance record.
• Maintains discipline in the classroom.
• Meets with parents to discuss student progress and problems.
• Participates in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops.
• Performs related duties such as sponsoring one or more activities or student organizations, assisting pupils in selecting a course of study, and counseling students in adjustment and academic problems.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education from a four‑year college orителя university.
• Missouri State Certification in Vocal Music (K‑12).

Preferred Qualifications
• Demonstrated experience and/or training in current techniques and skills for teaching secondary‑level students.
• Teaching experience in urban schools.

Terms

of Employment

Length of work year: 187 day calendar; 8hrs/day, 5 days/week.
