Job Summary
The Middle School is seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic English Teacher to join our team. This position will begin in August of the 2026-27 school year. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in English education, excellent classroom management skills, and the ability to engage and motivate students. A sense of humor and a positive and ambitious attitude are highly desirable.
Enthusiasm for working in a middle school environment, a demonstrated commitment to innovative pedagogy, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative community that values creativity and independence in the classroom are all essential.
- Experience teaching middle school is preferred.
- Proven ability to use a range of literature and resources that represent diverse experiences across various cultures and perspectives.
- Collaborate with colleagues to build robust curriculum in reading, writing, grammar, and vocabulary instruction.
- Teach the writing process to reach a wide range of learners.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular and meaningful feedback to students and parents.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages collaboration and respect.
- Show evidence of best practices in education and incorporate innovative teaching methods.
- Proven ability to collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum and participate in school‑wide initiatives.
- Plan, teach, and assess curriculum for grades 6‑8 in line with school objectives and national standards. μέσα>< rep> each bullet is already incorporated in qualifications, so list as above or combine.
- Collaborate with faculty to develop interdisciplinary projects and assess student progress.
- Actively participate in professional development, committee work, and school community events.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student behavior, submitting records as required.
Teaching positions run from August through May. The school year includes three vacations—one week at Thanksgiving, two weeks in December, and two weeks in March—plus holidays, personal and sick days.
CompensationCompensation is based on a competitive norm informed by area and peer schools, using years of experience and the highest completed degree.
